Wrist/Ankle Restraint – Padded

The Wrist/Ankle Restraint – Padded is made to be quickly applied to a patient. We have designed it with a padded cuff that you can do up and undo again if the patient calms down. This way, they are not restrained when it is not necessary.

This product is sold as a pair.

To Use

Place the Restraint around the patient’s wrist or ankle. Make sure to select the cuff size that provides a firm fit on the patient. Secure the webbing around the bed or trolley frame by wrapping around the frame and securing in an appropriate way.

To stop the patient from sliding down the bed, secure one wrist near the top of the bed and the other wrist near the hip area. If restraining for a long time, it may be possible to alternate the wrist restrained near the top of the bed. When securing the ankles, wrap the webbing around the end of the bed frame to stop the patient from kicking or sliding up the bed.

General Public Restraint Authorisation Letter: If this product is purchased for use in a private home, we require authorisation from a suitable person. This is to ensure it will be used correctly and safely by the family and/or carers, and that using it will not be dangerous. Examples of a suitable person who is able to sign the letter are: Occupational Therapist; Physiotherapist; Clinical Nurse Manager; Registered Nurse; Doctor; or another suitably qualified person.
