Shower Belt with Leg Straps

$121.55

The Shower Belt with Leg Straps is a restraint used to ensure the resident cannot slide or submarine down a chair. The two legs straps make this a very safe restraint belt. You may want to consider using this belt for people who forget they cannot walk, and may harm themselves if they try to do so.

You can wipe the Belt dry between residents. This is useful if you are using the same Belt for different residents.

This belt will help prevent residents from sliding down shower chairs or commodes, on to the floor. The resident can move their legs freely, twist around and even try to stand up. This belt should help prevent them from sliding or standing.

To Fit

Fit the Belt around the chair and attach it together behind the resident. Position the two leg straps under the legs and buckle them up. When fitting the leg straps, it is neater to pass the straps between the legs, under and up the outside of the leg. By fitting this way, after adjusting the buckles, the surplus webbing will be on the outside of the leg. This means the resident is less likely to notice it. It may be beneficial to wrap any excess of the lap belt around the frame of narrower chairs. This is to help position the belt at the pelvic position, either side of the hips.

You should always monitor a resident when they are wearing any safety item. If the lap belt or leg straps appear to be putting pressure around the resident, or under the legs, re-position the resident to relieve this pressure.
